Many people imagine that if a solar power plant is located somewhere out in a field,
it must have a “cable” running directly to their home.
The truth is different — and much smarter.
Electricity in Bulgaria flows through one shared system — the national transmission and distribution grid.
You can think of it as:
a huge “electricity highway” where:
▪️different power plants feed energy into the system
▪️all consumers use energy from that same system
Electricity does not come from one specific place —
it comes from the entire network.
When our solar power plant generates energy:
it feeds that energy into the grid.
This means:
▪️it increases the total amount of electricity available
▪️it reduces the need for expensive energy from other sources
You remain connected to the grid exactly as before.
But the difference is in how the energy is accounted for.
If you are part of the community:
▪️you own a share of the produced energy
▪️or you gain access to surplus energy
In practice:
▪️we produce energy “into the system”
▪️you use energy “from the system”
This is where the smart part comes in.
Through internal allocation and smart accounting:
▪️the total energy production is tracked
▪️each member’s share is calculated
▪️each participant’s consumption is measured
And this turns into:
▪️lower energy costs
▪️or direct savings
The battery makes the system even smarter.
It:
▪️stores energy when there is surplus production
▪️returns energy to the grid when it is most valuable
This increases the value for all members of the community.
Imagine it like this:
We all pour water into one large reservoir
And we all draw water from it
The difference is:
▪️we know who contributed how much
▪️and who uses how much
As part of SpodeliTOK:
▪️you do not need solar panels on your roof
▪️you do not go through complicated procedures
▪️you do not deal with maintenance
But you still receive the benefits of owning energy.
Not everyone needs to own a power plant.
But everyone can be part of one.
